Well Basketball is over. First round the girls played Hayden (pretty tall team that couldn't miss a basket). I think the girls were a little nervous. Their shots had a hard time getting in the hoop. They ended up losing. Friday they played Merino. I remember how hard it was to come back the next day and play hard when you know that your chances of the gold ball are over. The girls lost that game but we are just proud that they made it to state. It was so much fun watching Whitney play this year. Now we get a break from sports until Volleyball starts.

We had a good time at State. Thursday morning the town had a send off for the girls. Mom called me at 7:45 to say that they were just leaving the school in Sanford. I wasn't planning on going to the send off because I have a hard enough time getting ready in the mornings. Joselyn was playing in the bath and I had just gotten out and was in my robe (yes I wear a robe and I look like a fat old lady but it's warm). Well, I hate to be left out so I grabbed Joselyn out of the bath, threw a diaper and shirt on her and grabbed a blanket. We ran out to the cold car and drove (rather fast and illegally because Joselyn was on my lap) down to the car wash in La Jara which is like 1/2 mile from my house. We sat there waiting for the bus to come with the steam coming off of our wet hair. As soon as I saw the fire truck and the bus, the tears came streaming. I was just so excited for Whitney and it made me remember how cool I thought it was when I went to state. I was honking and waiving and crying. Joselyn didn't know what to think. She kept asking me if I was ok. The kids had fun at the motel running up and down the hall and getting told that we were being too loud. The motel was over run with Canty kids. We even got to swim for a bit. Joselyn thought that was cool.

Anyway...I just want to say that I'm sure proud of Whitney. She's a great girl and amazing athlete. We all love you!
